WHO WE ARE

Saw Specialists is a family-owned saw blade manufacturer based in Durban, South Africa. Incorporated in 1966, the company has grown from a small repair-focused operation into a diversified manufacturer and service provider for the sawmilling, timber, woodworking, packaging, and general industrial cutting sectors.

We custom manufacture saw blades and related tooling designed to improve cutting accuracy, reduce downtime and deliver dependable production performance. Our product range includes narrow bandsaw blades, wide bandsaw blades, circular saw blades, frame saw blades, tungsten carbide-tipped tooling, profile cutters, perforating knives, planer knife blocks, saw shop consumables, and specialised saw doctor tools.

Much has changed since the company was first established. Over the decades, Saw Specialists has expanded beyond blade repair into complete blade manufacture, saw servicing equipment, CNC machining, laser cutting, and the manufacture of both petrol and electric narrow bandsaw log breakdown machines.

Our Durban head office and manufacturing facility has a combined floor space of approximately 4,000 square metres and is situated close to the Port of Durban. We also operate a repair facility in Mkondeni, near Pietermaritzburg, and a distribution centre in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. From these locations we support customers in South Africa and export into Sub-Saharan Africa.

Our approach is practical and application focused. In addition to manufacturing and supplying blades, we work with customers to solve cutting and saw shop problems through technical support, sawmill alignment, bandsaw wheel grinding, saw shop assistance, and consulting. This allows us to support customers as a tooling partner, not only as a blade supplier.
 

We use quality materials, proven manufacturing processes, and CNC production capability to produce blades and tooling for demanding industrial applications. Our continued focus is to supply reliable products, practical technical support, and long-term value to the customers and industries we serve.
